The solar ovens have been getting a workout these past few days with so much glorious sunshine about. It might be cool outside, but the solar ovens are so well insulated they can still cook a fab roast, curry or whatever your pleasure. The big one we're using for cooking for coach tour groups, our secret recipe honey slice and dinners for the gang, while the small Sun Oven is currently being used for melting and filtering our beeswax from he season.

Well of course you can play "Eye Spy" for a couple of hours as you drive along, but there are all sorts of other cool things you can do that will make the trip part of the actual holiday.

Our little farmgate shop has been open for  a few months now with people popping in to pick up goodies ranging from tea to honey, balms to sauces and jam; and for those with a bit of time and keen to learn more about sustainable farming, plants, health, animals, native bees and solar cooking we have an admission option also.

It would be fun to take the alpacas for a walk along the beach at Forster one day to see how they like it!

We love farmers markets and there are some great ones in NSW. One of the best is Gloucester Farmers Market which is held 2nd Saturday of every month. Great producers from Marook Dairy to Hand 'n' Hoe Macadamias, lots of fruit & veg and plants, Fosterton Farm Bakery and plenty more.
